Botox
Proven. Simple. Effective. Ten minutes - a few tiny injections - and within days there’s a noticeable improvement. Used for lines caused by movement such as frown lines, forehead lines, crows feet and sometimes “smokers” lines. It is used to target only the muscle causing the line so giving a soft, more relaxed look not a frozen face. There’s no recovery or downtime.
What is Botox and how does it work?
It contains a specially prepared naturally occurring protein that originates from bacteria. It should only be injected by an experienced injector who can make sure that the correct amount is injected in precisely the right places. At Sandon Court Clinic we have one of the most experienced injectors in the South. It works by blocking the nerve impulses, which reduces the movement of the muscles, that cause wrinkles. With less movement, the skin surface gradually smoothes out, and the frown lines between your brows begin to fade.
What is the Botox treatment like?
First you will have a thorough medical consultation to ensure the treatment is safe for you. The practitioner will ask you to make exaggerated facial expressions to ensure the treatment is tailored exactly to your facial muscles. A few tiny injections are then given, anaesthetic spray can be used to numb the area first if you would feel more comfortable and that’s it. You will be given after care advice and be seen 2 weeks later to ensure perfect results.
How soon will I see a difference? What kind of results can I expect?
You can expect to see results within 2-14 days after your treatment. Frown lines will look more relaxed and softened. We aim to provide natural looking treatments. Visible results can last from three to six months. After that, you may be ready to return for a follow-up maintenance treatment. With repeated treatments, performed before the full effect has worn off, most people will find that results will last longer over time. Duration of results will depend on your facial expressions.
How soon will I need a second treatment? What happens if I decide not to continue?
Treatments in the first year tend to last three to four months. If you decide not to continue with the treatment, the area between your brows will eventually go back to its pre-treatment appearance.
Dermal Fillers
Ideal for nose to mouth lines, marionette and smile lines, “smokers” lines, sleep lines or lip plumping.
Here at Sandon Court Clinic we use dermal fillers which are made from hyaluronic acid (HA), something we naturally have in our skin but diminishes as we get older. Fillers such as Restylane are pure HA, 99% the same as your body’s own so they are safe and natural.
We only use gold standard fillers such as Restylane and Juvederm Ultra as both contain an anaesthetic and have clinical data to show them to be safe and effective.
Dermal fillers last 6-12 months depending on where you inject them and on your own metabolism.
